Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Highmark Credit Union in living out our Mission, “To educate and inspire our Highmark family so that all can achieve success.”  This is done by providing outstanding service to both internal and external members.  The primary purpose of this position is to lead the day-to-day operations of the credit union’s efforts in, efficiently and effectively, delivering products and services to its members through delivery channels other than its physical branch locations. This position is responsible for meeting organizational goals; including but  not  necessarily  limited  to:  service  levels, profitability,  and  employee  development;  in  meeting  this purpose.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Effectively lead employees in delivering outstanding member service daily.
  • Develop each employee to their highest potential by identifying their areas for improvement and appropriately coaching, training or correcting the employees’ performance.
  • Recognize employees who perform at a high level.
  • Hold employees accountable for their performance, attitude and behavior.
  • Exhibits confidence in self and others; Inspires and motivates others to perform well.
  • Effectively influences actions and opinions of others.
  • Meet with each employee monthly to review previous month’s performance, set goals for upcoming month’s performance and develop plans to improve employee’s performance.
  • Ensure that the branch/department meets sales and service goals as established by the Credit Union.
  • Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long term objectives.
  • Performs job duties within our bylaws, regulations, Board of Directors policies, established internal and external service standards and our work procedures.
  • Train and supervise branch staff. Assign, direct, coordinate and review work performed by staff.
  • Orders cash and balances vaults and machines at assigned locations.
  • Maintains a rotating schedule as necessary for teller and PFA coverage at assigned locations.
  • Maintains highly motivated, well-trained staff, maintaining effective employee relations.
  • Implements and monitors the budget for the branch.
  • Applies and evaluates policies and procedures for the branch.
  • Ensures that the branch is compliant with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies.
  • Monitors branch activity, including number of transactions, volume, teller errors, loan volume, teller and loan personal sales, and new accounts.
  • Monitors key products and sales within the branch to ensure profitable and sound business practices and a high quality of service for members.
  • Manages the security and safety for the branch.
  • Analyze and monitor security and safety policies and procedures on an on-going basis.
  • Ensures that staff receives on-going training.
  • Schedules adequate staff to ensure efficient branch operation.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and five years of experience in management position in a financial institution or Associate’s degree in Business or related field and seven years of experience in a management position within a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of standard business practices
  • Knowledge of Credit Union services and products including the legal and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must pass required background check
