Working within the Business Initiatives and Alliances (BIA) department, the Market Intelligence Analyst collects and analyzes a wide range of market data used to influence strategic decision making at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Reporting to the Senior Director of Market Intelligence and Performance Improvement, the Market Intelligence Analyst provides regular market updates, observations on their impact on DFCI and recommended actions. The Market Intelligence Analyst is also responsible for supporting the market data and analytics needs of the Market Intelligence and BIA teams, serves as an Institute expert on comprehensive market data and informs Institute clinical growth planning and strategy through data analysis and modeling.

Responsibilities- Responsible for extracting, compiling, and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative market data from various sources.
- Develop, prepare, and present Quarterly Market Intelligence reports, monitoring and summarizing developments in local, regional, and national healthcare markets.
- Responsible for highlighting and presenting key market updates for internal stakeholders and Institute leadership.
- Produce regular reports of analyzed market data; present market updates and trends to groups at varying levels throughout the Institute to influence strategic decision making.
- Interact with data vendors to resolve ad-hoc questions and/or validate market data as needed.
- Create and maintain demand and volume projection models with some oversight.
- Complete more complex ad-hoc and recurring Market Intelligence gathering and analyses.
- Manage complex assignments autonomously and/or as part of a team.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field; Masters (MHA, MBA) preferred.
- 2 years related work experience within the healthcare industry; Market Intelligence experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Industry knowledge and basic understanding of key market trends in oncology and healthcare.
- Skilled data visualization and storyboarding.
- Advanced MS Excel modeling skills including Pivot Tables, Data Validation, What-If Analysis and Forecasting.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to present data in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to evaluate requests and provide relevant and effective solutions.
- Experience working with large datasets preferred.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work collaboratively with individuals at various levels of the organization.
- Highly accurate and detail oriented.
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Intermediate skills in Tableau preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn to use new software tools.
