Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Inside Machinists for projects located in Bremerton, WA . Job Scope:
Operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders to produce precision metal parts
Quality control to ensure products meet precise specifications
Assemble mechanical components
Set-up and operate conventional and special purpose machines to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and makes adjustments as needed
Shape steel, aluminum, plastic and other materials
Fit and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table and hand tools
Requirements
Must have 2 years Apprenticeship and 3 years experience in a machine shop, or 5 years equivalent work experience
Must pass drug screen and have clean background check
Must be US Citizen and qualify for a common access card CAC and/or DBIDS badge
Must have Marine OSHA 10, or be willing to complete the class
Navy standards manual and cleaning equipment knowledge preferred
Ability to hear warning signs, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations and warnings.
Proficient in using precision measurement tools, must understand imperial and metric measuring systems
Proficient in measuring equipment such as micrometers and venire calipers, and various hand tools including hammers, drills, grinders, welding equipment, cable cutters, electrical tape, electrical equipment and more
Must own basic Hand Tools
Must wear proper PPE
