Job Description
Fleet Services provides the Marine Division of Fugro with a significant competitive advantage by delivering professional, tailor-made Fleet Management, Fleet Development, and Fleet Personnel solutions.
The Marine Assurance Officer serves as an independent advisor and coach for the company and vessels, providing expertise on QHSSE and marine operational matters. Additionally, the role involves actively monitoring both company and vessel compliance with internal standards, as well as ensuring adherence to relevant international standards and regulations.
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
  • Actively monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Ensure the timely closure of HSSE audits, inspections, and visit findings.
  • Provides expert advice on compliance with ISM and other industry standards.
  • Deliver training to both crew and shore personnel on the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Coaches onshore and vessel staff on the implementation and execution of the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Conducts internal audits covering ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO14001, and Fugro standards.
  • Investigates incidents, prepares incident overviews, and captures lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Ensures ship security plans align with the ISPS code and Fugro standards.
  • Creates and manages vessel QHSSE year plans to optimize safety and compliance efforts.
  • Conducts 3rd party vessel HSSE inspections when required.
  • Reviews Personal Engagement Plans (PEP) for compliance with both Fugro and industry standards.
  • The employee is responsible for carrying out work in accordance with IMS procedures, reporting all HSSE incidents, and actively participating in all engagements as requested by the employer.

Job Requirements
  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.
  • Possess current driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Requires either a minimum of 2 years of higher technical education or Maritime Education, coupled with experience as a certified ship's officer.
  • Have 3 to 8 years of previous sailing experience as a navigational officer on vessels, along with shore-based experience overseeing QHSSE and/or operations of offshore and/or subsea vessels.
  • Sound knowledge of international maritime regulations, industry standards, and QHSSE practices.
  • Taken ISM, ISPS, MLC, and ISO 14001 Auditor Courses
