Identification and implementation of cost saving solutions for production lines. The position will analyze current status, propose improvements and implement cost-saving measures, from Engineered Standards, research data, equipment, vendors to obtain the best solution and coordinate timelines, implementation and training to ensure a successful project completion. The position will report to the Engineering Department Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Research/identify high yield cost saving projects
- Provide ROI for proposed solutions
- Report findings and analysis to management
- Implement and validate one project by conclusion of internship
- Work effectively in a variety of engineering tasks with limited supervision
- Review customer’s specifications to ensure capabilities are met
- Review Engineering Standards
- Encouraged in risk-taking to benefit the company, innovation and propose creative ideas in all aspects towards the company.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
- Currently enrolled in an academic program for Industrial Engineering or other related major from an accredited University with a GPA of a 3.0 or higher.
- Willingness to learn contract manufacturing and business operations
- Ability to manage technical tasks with overall goals in mind
- Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge in continuous improvement lean methodologies
- Ability to interpret and work with/on CAD drawings, renderings, samples, etc.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
- Knowledge of packaging equipment systems and packaging technology is a plus
