United has established a center of excellence for Electrical/Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) engineering to support a portfolio of nuclear plant modifications and new plant designs. We're looking to expand the group hiring intern, early, mid-level and supervisory electrical/I&C positions. These opportunities will support career development and growth as United expands its portfolio in the nuclear market. United has over 60 years of continuous experience in design, construction and upgrades of nuclear power plants. We are the AE and/or constructor of record for (52) nuclear units globally.
Job Description
United E&C, Inc. is actively seeking an Electrical/I&C Engineering Intern in Charlotte, NC who will assist with a variety of engineering tasks in support of nuclear power plant system modifications and upgrades. Assignments will entail the initial planning and design phases for projects of limited complexity under the direct supervision of a supervising or senior level engineer. The Engineering Intern interacts with other disciplines, project support groups, vendors, and client representatives as appropriate on assigned projects and is responsible for initiating and developing engineering drawings through completion in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Must be working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a 4 year ABET accredited college or university with focus on Electrical Power Systems
2. Must have completed coursework in energy conversion, power systems analysis, or related power courses, electronics and control system theory.
3. Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills
4. Ability to travel.
5. Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
Preferred Requirements:
1. Minimum 3.0 GPA
