Volt is immediately hiring for Manufacturing Lab Technician-QC in Ankeny, IA.
Quality Control Team supports our manufacturing team in supplying reagents used for accurate, efficient and reliable QC analysis of nucleic acids in research and pharmaceutical labs worldwide as part of a Great Place to Work certified company. This entry level position will focus on ensuring that our parallel capillary electrophoresis and microfluidic liquid reagent product lines are of the highest quality and function as intended every time in the hands of our customers.
As a Manufacturing Lab Technician you will:
- Use pH/conductivity meters and viscometers to implement routine and non-routine physical testing on materials as required by standard operating procedures.
- Perform microbial testing on consumable products and environmental samples and verify results.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibrations on test equipment.
- Record test results in an SAP environment.
- Closely work with peers and other members of the quality team to provide clear and concise documents and explanations of test procedures.
- Analyze and transform data to information (e.g. graphs, charts, including statistical analysis) to develop methods and drive improvements.
- Support all team members in multiple aspects of capillary electrophoresis and microfluidic production operations to achieve production line objectives and goals.

The ideal candidate will have:
3 years of relevant laboratory and/or manufacturing experience.- 2-year degree in a Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated technical and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong documentation skills with proven high attention to detail.
- Effective use of PC applications (e.g. SAP, Office365, etc.) on a regular basis.
- Ability to read, understand and rigorously follow Quality Control and manufacturing processes, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
- Flexible with the ability to effectively change directions and remain open to new ideas and assignments to adapt to changing business priorities.
- Familiarity/knowledge of capillary electrophoresis or microfluidic instrumentation and reagents preferred.
- Demonstrated multitasking and problem solving skills.
- A positive attitude and ability to work within a fast paced environment.
- Previous experience using analytical scientific equipment (to include pH meters, conductivity meters, viscometers, Fragment Analyzer, TapeStation) in an industrial setting a plus.
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.000 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
