About You and this Role
Dow has an exciting opportunity for aManufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Platform Specialist within our Technical Expertise and Support Core Engineering Tech Center, located in Freeport, TX. In this role, you will work alongside a dynamic, globally distributed team of Process Automation professionals and have responsibility for the implementation and support of hardware and software solutions to address Dow Manufacturing plant/client needs. Information Technology skills and technical problem-solving abilities are key to success as well as the desire to conduct hands-on technical work.
Responsibilities

• Application support, problem resolution
• Projects work (including requirements, design, development, test and deploy)
• System, network architectural direction
• System security
• System capacity
• Provide software design, development, implementation, and technical support for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) solutions implemented globally.
• Emphasis is on system integration of Manufacturing Execution Systems (commercial) applications running on Microsoft Windows client/server.
• Serve as technical interface with application software vendors for new releases, patches, and defect resolution
• Provide resolution of product defects and performance issues
• Collect new technology requirements for future application releases and product improvements

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science or Engineering preferred)
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (i.e. process automation/MES or Manufacturing IT)
• Applicable to Candidates who intend to work from the U.S. or Canada: A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States or Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

• Knowledge of manufacturing (chemical preferred) and strong technical knowledge around MES applications such as AspenTech's Infoplus.21™ and interfaces to other systems (Distributed Control Systems, Laboratory Information Management Systems, and other PI systems).
• In-depth Microsoft Windows operating system knowledge (server and client).
• Knowledge/understanding of Microsoft Active Directory Configuration/Troubleshooting
• Scripting tools: VBScript, Powershell, DOS command
• Software development tools: Visual Basic - VBA, VB.NET, SQL, XML, C, FORTRAN, DCL
• AspenTech MES Applications: AspenTech Manufacturing Suite ®: Aspen Framework (AFW), Aspen Data Source Architecture (ADSA), Aspen Production Record Manager, CIM-IO core, interfaces, SQLplus, InfoPlus.21, Aspen Process Explorer
• Interfaces: OPC-DA, OPC-UA
• Microsoft Server Infrastructure (IIS, SQLServer)
• Network Topologies and Architecture, TCP/IP, Virtual Machines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Installer (MSI) and Patching

Additional Notes

• The preferred location for this position is Freeport (TX), Midland (MI), or Terneuzen (NLD). Other Dow locations globally will be considered.
