Individual contributor position responsible for development and scale-up of new formulas and packaging to ensure product launches meet expectations in the areas of quality, cost, and timing. Additional areas of responsibility include working with third party manufacturers on continuous improvement projects for cost savings, improved quality, and efficiency. Previous manufacturing experience is preferred. This position interfaces internally with Packaging Engineering, Research & Development and Quality Engineering, Product Development, Sourcing, Operations, and externally with third party manufacturers, equipment, and raw material suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Program Execution (70%)
- Support development and scale-up of new products
- Plan and coordinate pilot batches (bulk compounding) and line trials (labeling, filling, and assembly) with third party manufacturers
- Validate filling, labeling and pack-out process and equipment
- Advise development of new formulas and packaging for risks in manufacturability
- Lead technology transfer to new suppliers
- Validate alternate raw materials and components
- Lead cross-functional meetings with both internal and external partners
Issue Management (15%)
- Drive issue resolution with internal and external partners to improve efficiencies and quality.
- Identify and track risk analysis to evaluate production success
Vendor Performance/Process Improvements (15%)
- Initiate, research and implement value engineering projects to reduce cost, lead time and quality concerns.
- Participate in supplier improvement plans and provide feedback for vendor scorecard
- Support new vendor onboarding (assess, train, audit, and develop)
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data to generate conclusions and develop action plans
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in project management, manufacturing processes, statistical techniques and GMP.
- Ability to travel 30%-40% domestically and internationally
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical or Natural Sciences.
