Job Description
- Evaluate and recommend changes in methods and procedures in assigned areas of responsibility
- Assesses new manufacturing technologies for potential investment
- Specify and assist in the specification, procurement, and installation of machinery and tooling
- Design tooling, fixtures, and inspection equipment through the use of 3D solid modeling and 2D drafting software
- Provide support in the form of troubleshooting tooling and machinery problems
- Assists in the development of maintenance (TPM) plans and instructions for all machinery in the department
- Performs other special projects/tasks assigned by management
- Participates in continuous improvement or problem/solving activities
- Assist in the development and upkeep of Standard Work
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology preferred)
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing basics (8 Wastes, TPM, Kaizen, SMED)
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software, Solid Edge, a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Able to function in a highly collaborative environment and interact positively and openly with employees, supervisors, and other departments
- Able to work constructively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Familiarity with BOM, Routings, and Time Studies
- 3-5 years of experience
- Self-starter attitude and ownership mentality for projects
- Willingness to continuously learn and expand responsibilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager
- Ability to meet strict deadlines within a fast-paced environment
