Location: Glendale Heights, IL
Job Type: Full Time
The position is based out of our Naperville, IL office and will require considerable time per week to be spent at our fulfillment center located in Glendale Heights, IL.
Develop, implement, and maintain production functional and bench test systems
Assemble, repair, and maintain custom-built electronics test fixtures and equipment
Evaluate and audit quality control processes and make recommendations for improvement
Update technical documentation and active work instructions and ensure the manufacturing process is in compliance
Investigate reported field anomalies and work with design teams to quickly address to determine root cause. Ensure root cause fix is implemented correctly in the manufacturing process
Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous process improvements to drive efficiencies, improve quality, and reduce costs
Participate in design reviews and provide feedback based on design for test, design for assembly, and design for manufacturing
Research and suggest areas of automation opportunities
Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs
Deploy automated test systems domestically or globally when required
Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on test equipment in to maintain >99% production up-time
Various documentation activities as required
Assist repair technicians on complex troubleshooting issues
Create and maintain test equipment drawings and documentation
Collaborate with Supply Chain Logistics to perform failure analysis trends on RMA devices
Work with Design Engineering to complete a device test strategy
30% to 50% of the time will be working on a production floor. Must be able to stand for extended periods
Some on-call responsibilities and/or after-hours support may be required
Some travel, as well as, night and weekend work may be required
Working primarily in our Glendale Heights IL supplier location but required to spend 25% of time in the Naperville IL office on occasion
Requirements
5+ years' experience as a senior-level Manufacturing Technician, Test Engineer or similar role
Ability to read electronic schematics
Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits and do root cause analyses reports
Strong hand skills, soldering skills, and attention to detail
Comfortable using DMMs, microscopes, oscilloscopes, and various other test equipment
Strong computer skills and MS Office skills with knowledge and experience with document control and configuration management practices a plus
Must have the ability to learn quickly and urgently diagnose issues that might affect quality
Proven problem-solving abilities and analytical skills with strong self-motivation
Works well in a fast-paced team environment
Mechanical knowledge a plus
Must pass a basic electronics and applied confirmation soldering skills test
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ambitious and serious self-starter with minimum supervision
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
College degree preferred
