Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
Cobalt Truck Equipment, an Idaho based company with four locations, is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer based at its Nampa, Idaho, location.
The position is a part of the Engineering Department, and the candidate will work directly with the Engineering Manager to assist in the areas of design and manufacturing of customer trucks.
Essential Functions

- Develop Bill of Materials (BOMs) for standard and custom product lines.
- Partner with manufacturing and engineering to develop master BOMs.
- Produce 3D layouts and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
- Evaluate technical aspects, BOMs, work instructions and manufacturability of new builds.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and finalize drawings to capture as-built products.
- Inspect components and work with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Assist in creating standard technical procedures for all locations.
- Assist in new product development, prototyping and testing.
- Provide manufacturing support for ongoing builds.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Work with partners to incorporate their latest technology into Cobalt products.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities by utilizing knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Education & Experience
- BSME or similar technical education with at least 2 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Thorough understanding of controlled documents.
- Must possess a thorough working knowledge and proficiency with Autodesk Inventor (or similar design software system) and Autodesk Vault.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and advanced data functions.
- Knowledge of engineering materials and processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with production lines a plus.
Work Environment
This position works in an office setting, with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch. Modified hours may be considered.
Travel
Some travel (~5%) is expected for this position.
