Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes using engineering, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies. The focus of this role will be on projects aligned with the company's directives, involving the implementation of new equipment, equipment modifications, and the execution of Kaizen initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and lead projects in the manufacturing processes of fabrication, welding, paint, and assembly line using industry-leading techniques to ensure safety, reduce operational risks, and enhance efficiency.
- Design and document manufacturing processes, including process work instructions through Microsoft Office programs, and document fabrication and welding processes through tool design using solid modeling and MRP software.
- Design and document fixtures used in manufacturing processes through solid modeling software.
- Program Computer-Aided manufacturing equipment and robotics.
- Update files and programs supporting manufacturing processes due to design engineering changes, including routings, BOM’s, prints, and machine programs.
- Lead teams in problem-solving using structural team problem-solving techniques such as Six Sigma, 8-Disciplines, DOE, A3, etc.
- Assist in the customer complaint system, conducting return analysis, actionable data collection, and implementing improvements to enhance product quality.
- Assist in the planning and maintenance of PFMEA and FMEA documentation.
- Lead the investigation and implementation of new technology and CAPEX projects to improve cost and efficiency.
- Lead projects supporting Corporate Cost Reduction targets.
- Lead/support the New Product Development (NPD) process.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within the Manufacturing team.
- Reduce scrap costs throughout the facility.
- Perform all other duties as directed by the manager.
Experience & Education:
- Undergraduate degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a demonstrated experience in one of the core competencies of Fabrication or Welding of 5 years or more.
- Good understanding of Lean Concepts.
- Proficient in SolidWorks or similar solid modeling software.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Strong quantitative skills.
- Financial competency.
