Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description: The Manufacturing Engineer will be a part of our Engineering Department focusing on capital projects and multi-disciplinary design work in support of both facility expansion and production improvements. This role requires a broad range of skills and knowledge to identify, design, plan, and execute projects.

In this role you will:

• Manage engineering projects across the facility, with responsibility for:
  • Maintaining project budgets
  • Maintaining project timeline and managing critical path
  • Managing/Directing contractors/vendors/internal personnel
  • Overseeing/Supervising project work when/if necessary, including off-hours/shutdown work as required
• Plan/Design code-compliant improvements to plant infrastructure, production machinery, and the facility itself:
  • Infrastructure including cold/hot water, compressed air, natural gas, electricity, plumbing/sanitary, and others as required
  • Production machinery including food processing equipment, pumps, tanks, conveyors, packaging and ‘end-of-line’ equipment, and others as required
  • Expansions/additions to facility Civil/Structural/Architectural elements
  • Manage/oversee outsourced design work if/when necessary
• Report to and provide updates for Project stakeholders, including internal management, board members, and customers
• Create/Draft project plans and designs in CAD
• Engage in practical problem solving and troubleshooting throughout the facility as required
• Perform offsite and onsite project acceptance tests
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Quality Departments for handoffs, improvements, and capital projects

Preferred Experience and Skills

• 3+ Years of Industry experience in this or a similar role required (+5 years preferred)
• 3+ Years CAD drafting in a professional role (AutoCAD preferred)
• Ability to read/interpret engineering and architectural drawings, PIDs, Isometric drawings, electrical schematics/control diagrams
• Understanding of PLC programming and electrical/control troubleshooting

• Proficient with MS Office Suite of software
• Knowledge of industrial code and best practices
• Demonstrated ability to utilize Root Cause Analysis and First Principles to solve problems and create solutions
