Job Description
As an Engineer II, Maintenance, you will play a pivotal role in the maintenance and production processes, overseeing projects, managing outages and shutdowns, and contributing to the research, design, and assessment of new equipment, tools, processes, and standards. This position requires a focus on safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and responsiveness to ensure operational excellence in both maintenance and production areas.
Other Responsibilities:
- Research and assess new equipment, tools, and processes, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
- Manage multiple projects within the maintenance organization, including planned outages, major maintenance tasks, shutdowns, and miscellaneous projects.
- Design equipment, processes, and standards to enhance efficiency, reliability, quality, and safety in maintenance and production.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and oversee repairs resulting from such events.
- Develop control standards for improvements across various aspects of operations.
- Conduct audits, benchmarking studies, and research to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage the Preventive Maintenance (PM) process, including evaluation of existing PM plans and ensuring timely completion.
- Serve as a technical contact for processes such as plasma arc melting (PAM) and vacuum arc remelting (VAR).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop manufacturing process improvements.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities and risk assessments.
- Support customers by analyzing process and chemistry data.
- Coordinate with Product Engineering and R&D for new product and process development.
- Take on product line responsibility as opportunities arise, including ingot finished goods.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field OR 4 years of Mechanical Design experience.
- 3 years of Mechanical Design Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Six Sigma Black/Green Belt or related certification.
- Experience in statistical data analysis using JMP, Mini-Tab, or related software.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- PLC troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Maximo or other CMMS.
