Form of workSince 1927, E.C. Styberg Engineering has been a mainstay company in Racine, Wisconsin as a contract manufacturer of medium to heavy gauge metal components. The company started in a garage with two tool makers and has grown over the years to a 175,000 sq. ft facility with 150 employees. Stybergs’ facility includes a wide range of processes – metalworking equipment, including heavy metal stamping, heat-treating, precision machining, welding, grinding, and deburring with the quality department assuring compliance to all the requirements.
As the Manufacturing Engineer at Styberg Engineering, you will primarily be focused on our Tool and Die Department. This means you will be responsible for preparing and designing detailed drawings and specifications for a variety of tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, and more.

As the Manufacturing Engineer at Styberg Engineering, you will primarily be focused on our Tool and Die Department. This means you will be responsible for preparing and designing detailed drawings and specifications for a variety of tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, and more.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare, design, and detail drawings and specifications for a variety of tools, simple dies, fixtures, gauges, machine attachments, and more
- Reverse Engineer original product design/concepts utilizing sketches and instruction to determine machine capabilities and specifications, then apply those original ideas
- Detail complex tool and die drawings
- Prepare material lists for all materials used to construct tooling and suggest vendors
- Assist Engineering and Sales Coordinator in filing and mining customer files, part prints, tool drawings, inspection reports, routings, as well as specifications and quotes
- Assist in the interpretation of drawings and layout of the necessary material for estimating purposes
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience (3-5 years) in a Manufacturing Engineer role
- Preference for 5 years of experience in Tool and Die Design including Stamping, Forming, and Virtual Gibbs
- Strong Design experience utilizing Solid Edge software
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across varying levels of the organization and with external customers and vendors
