Job Description
Ignite Visibility, a fast growing and award-winning Digital Marketing agency in San Diego. We're not looking for just any editor or writer, but a managing content editor who has been the leading voice of a publication such magazine publication or internal marketing teams. The Managing Editor plays a crucial role in overseeing and producing the creation, editing, and publication of digital and print content for Ignite Visibility internal marketing team. This position is responsible for maintaining editorial quality, ensuring content aligns with the company's brand voice and objectives, coming up with content strategies and ideas, creating and managing the editorial calendar, assigning work to writers, editing, reviewing, and more. You must have previous experience leading content within tech or marketing space across pub.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Strategy and Planning:
- Lead content direction and the brand voice of Ignite Visibility
- Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine content priorities and editorial calendar.
- Stay updated on Digital Marketing industry trends and best practices to ensure content remains relevant and competitive.
Content Creation and Editing:
- Oversee the creation of high-quality written, visual, and multimedia content.
- Edit and proofread content for accuracy, grammar, style, and brand consistency.
- Ensure all content is engaging, informative, and tailored to the target audience.
Content Publishing:
- Manage content publication schedules and distribution channels.
- Work with the marketing and SEO teams to optimize content for search engines and user engagement.
- Monitor and analyze content performance using analytics tools.
Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce editorial guidelines, standards, and style guides.
- Ensure all content complies with legal and ethical standards, including copyright and privacy regulations.
- Implement quality control processes to minimize errors and improve content quality.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and product development, to ensure content aligns with company initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external contributors.
Content Innovation:
- Identify opportunities for content innovation and new formats.
- Stay current with emerging content trends and technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 6-10 years of experience content management experience (website content, social, and magazine).
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in leading content strategies and execution.
- Proven experience elevating content for brands and publications using innovative and creative strategies.
- Experience leading content for magazine or newspaper publication.
- Industry experience in Digital Marketing or tech.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Highly detailed-oriented.
- Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing platforms.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and analytics tools.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
