Machine Shop Helper

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Shop Assistant to join our team. The Shop Assistant will be responsible for assisting with various tasks in our shop, including cleaning, packaging, some local deliveries and warehouse duties. This is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and grow in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.

Duties:

• Cleaning: Keep work areas, machines, and tools clean and organized.
• Organizing: Arrange tools, parts, and materials in an orderly manner for easy access.
• Handling Parts: Move parts between workstations, ensuring they are properly labeled and accounted for.
• Assisting with Orders: Assist in preparing orders, checking inventory, and verifying accuracy.
• Packaging: Package finished parts or products according to specifications.
• Shipping: Assist in preparing shipments, including labeling and arranging for pickup.
• Assisting Machinists: Support machinists with tasks as directed, such as fetching tools or materials.
• Following Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
• Other Duties: Assist with any other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required

- Knowledge of Machine shop etiquette a plus

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
