Job Summary/Purpose
This position is responsible for managing the transmission and distribution Warehouse Operations and functions within the organization. The incumbent will manage supply chain and logistics functions, which may include, but are not limited to: production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution. The position creates integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics, and outside suppliers, focuses resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes, and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Compiles data on order volume, production schedules and forecasts, and applies statistical methods to estimate future materials requirement. Develop and implement a supply chain strategy and organizational structure that supports the effective execution of the required daily activities.
  • Maintain maximum system availability. Develop and implement policies and procedures that provide guidance and direction to all locations that creates a competitive advantage for the business unit and supports the distribution strategy. Lead the development of a plan for every part to achieve objectives of Operations, Production Control and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Retain existing customer base and attract new customers. Oversee the daily execution of the transmission and distribution schedule to ensure on time customer delivery. Work with Finance to provide supply chain data on distribution costs and analysis of the impact on cost of services. Forecasts any changes in service costs and provides forecasted updates to Finance and Marketing as required.
  • Efficiently and effectively resolve customer complaints. Provide guidance and leadership in driving the distribution operations team in the development and execution of continuous initiatives to achieve year over year direct, indirect cost improvements. Work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute departmental plans to reduce expenses at each of the operating locations, including monthly reporting of key performance metrics.
  • Provide best-in-class storm response performance. Develop and execute capacity planning and scheduling of the energy generating facility and develop and execute material planning and logistics to support distribution facility.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for strategic business alliances. Provide a rewarding, engaging and diverse work environment for employees. Create and sustain a safe work environment. Create value for the communities we serve. Establish career development plans, goals and objectives for each direct report, utilizing a defined process to ensure continuous improvement in individual and group performance. This also includes effective succession planning.
