The Manager will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide Drug Product technical support for the solid oral dose product portfolio across the Viatris global manufacturing network. This position reports to the Senior Director, API & DP Technical Services, within the IOAO Global Technology and Engineering team.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Serve as Drug Product Subject Matter Expert (SME) in areas of solid oral manufacturing
- Provide proactive improvements to increase process and product robustness, manufacturing efficiencies, product quality and supply reliability across the internal and external IOAO network (Integrated Oral solid dose and API Operations)
- Provide project management and/or technical guidance for execution of Drug Product technical transfers and API/excipient source changes
- Provide support to manufacturing site colleagues for complex investigations and technical issue resolution
- Collaborate across GTE as needed to solicit relevant expertise for technical issue resolution and customer support
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Experience
- At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with at least 5 years in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
- Extensive knowledge of solid oral dose manufacturing unit operations from small scale through commercial scale with firm understanding of process equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team driven environment
- Proven ability to plan and work in independently. Candidate must be able to work under consultative direction, toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives for a project. Assignments may sometimes be self-initiated.
- Candidate should have the ability to determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Develops advanced ideas and guides their development into a final product.
- Understanding of six sigma methodology and application of tools to resolve complex DP challenges in GMP environment
- Approximately 15-20% of domestic and international travel may be required.
