Job description

Full Time Leadership Position based at hospital in St. Paul, MN. The Manager of Surgical Services leads the Gillette surgical and sterile processing teams to provide the highest quality and safest surgical patient care.

Purpose of position

This position provides inspirational leadership to guide strategic, operational and support to Gillette Children’s mission of providing exemplary clinical care to its patients, serving its community, and engaging its staff, patients, and families to foster innovation to ensure the provision of the highest quality and safest patient care.

Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient’s condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $59.03 to $88.53, with a median wage of $73.78/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay just one part of the compensation package for employees. Qualifications

Required

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license through the MN Board of Nursing.
  • Master’s degree obtained or in progress.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience relevant to the position.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a nursing leadership, supervisory or managerial role within a relevant clinical setting
  •  Financial and budget management experience; ability to analyze trends and changes in healthcare environment.
  • Management of human resources experience, including recruiting and retention, staffing and performance management.

Preferred

  • Doctorate degree in nursing or related field
  • Master’s degree in business administration
  • Additional educational preparation and/or professional certification or advancement
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities.

  • Interest in and commitment to advancing services for individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrate ability to initiate significant and complex process improvement initiatives that involve a number of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ability to work closely with physicians and clinical providers.
  • Strong knowledge, skills, and experience in communicating with diverse groups, negotiating complex issues and in maintaining professional relationships.
  • Time management, problem solving, protocol, policy and procedure development skills.
