Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager (RN) for our Labor and Delivery unit. As the Manager, you will assume 24-hour responsibility for all functions of the unit, working under the general supervision of the Director. In collaboration with the Nurse Director and members of the Medical Staff, you will be responsible for assessing the quality of patient care services provided in the unit by all levels of practitioners. This leadership role requires excellent coordination, resourcefulness, and decision-making skills.
Responsibilities:
- Initiate, guide, and direct the coordination of all unit functions
- Serve as a resource person for staff members and assist in the necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff
- Assume responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided by the unit
- Make decisions regarding activities within the unit based on Hospital Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, and Department of Nursing Standards, collaborating with the Director in unusual situations
Qualifications:
- Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing (BSN required)
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice in the provision of clinical nursing for mother and baby patients with emphasis on leadership and management experience
- L&D RN experience required
- BLS Certified
- ACLS required
Additional Information:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in L&D acute care within the last year (3 years of charge experience in a supervisor role)
- BSN degree preferred
- Compensation: Salary Range: Flexible $37.84 - $47.30 - $56.76 based on years of experience
