Motel 6 is looking for a Manager On Duty to join our team. This will be a position, working mornings, weekend and evening hours as needed. We look for the ability to work independently while paying close attention to detail and organization as well as maintaining a positive attitude while working as part of a team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The MOD is critical to the success of the motel and must show an aptitude and track record for driving employee engagement through training and development, ability to drive guest satisfaction, track record of completely managing front office operations and an aptitude for PMS administration and revenue management processes.
The MOD will support the hotel operations by leading the efforts and focus at the front office in the following areas:
- Laed Manager-On-Duty at the hotel
- Assist in the development and execution of strategies to ensure that the Front Office is operating in a manner that is consistent with Company standards and policies and meets or exceeds expectations for performance, productivity and guest satisfaction
- Recruitment, on-boarding, training, scheduling, supervision and performance management of Front Desk, Maintenance, and team members
- Maintain or exceed the delivery of Guest Service standards. Responsible for achieving or exceeding Guest Service benchmarks as set forth by the Executive Team
- Respond to and resolve Guest complaints or requests in a timely manner
- Administration and proper maintenance, training and adoption of the Property Management System and other Front Desk related tools
- Be available for supervision and support to the Front Desk on a as needed basis.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays and evenings without restriction
- Be an integral member of the company's leadership team. Maintain a compatible working relationship with all departments, employees and corporate staff
- Communicate effectively with the regional manager and assist in the planning and execution of revenue management strategies throughout the various on-line platforms, PMS and front desk personnel
- Manage and control Front Desk and Housekeeping operational and labor related expenses
- Perform other duties as instructed by the Regional Manager or Corporate Executive Team
- Ensure that all guests receive a courteous and efficient check-in and check-out experience, and that guest service standards are always followed.
- Handle guest issues, complaints, requests, and proactively resolve in a manner satisfactory to both the guest and to the hotel.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the proper delivery of all guest requests.
- Demonstrate proper telephone etiquette including transferring calls and taking accurate messages for guest and team members according to company standards.
- Have working knowledge of reservations, procedures, and yield management techniques. Take same day reservations and make accurate future reservations when necessary. Know cancellation and walked guest procedures to be able to perform them if needed.
- Follow proper cash handling procedures and be able to post all charges to guest folios and ledger accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Hospitality degree and or 2 yrs equivalent hotel experience.
- Must be detail oriented
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Positive and team oriented
- Passion for guest service
- Results oriented, work well under pressure
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with property management systems
- HotelKey PMS experience Preferred.
Previous Hotel Front Office Management experience Required!
