How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:
- Manages two revenue equipment work units within Revenue Operations that are responsible for maintaining and repairing fare collection equipment and systems.
- Coaches staff for excellence to meet objectives and develop skill sets, experience and enhance professional and personal development.
- Establishes unit/department strategic direction and annual goals and implements initiatives with objectively defined measures of process and outcomes.
- Develops, implements and monitors internal controls and operational processes to provide complete and accurate reporting and recording of department activities and transactions (including work orders, physical assets, keys, etc.).
- Troubleshoots department issues with staff. Engages and leads others in problem solving techniques to address challenges and concerns.
- Monitors related computer and equipment support systems and fare collection equipment to ensure the security and accuracy of the entire fare collection system.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external customers, regional transit providers, and supports new customer initiatives to enhance customer service.
- Effectively manages procurement, processes of capital projects and contracts when needed to ensure controls and procedures are in place and addressed appropriately with the contracts and procurement staff.
- Develops, monitors and manages the capital and operating budget of two cost centers.
- Oversees and maintains the proper level of inventory required to support all electronic revenue Equipment Repair activity while ensuring systems and processes are in place and operating to control inventory levels and activity.
- A high school diploma/GED and ten (10) years of progressive; AND three (3) years of experience in supervision/management or project management.
- An associate degree and eight (8) years of progressive; AND three (3) years of experience in supervision/management or project management.
- A bachelor's degree and six (6) years of progressive experience; AND three (3) years of experience in supervision/management or project management.
What knowledge, skills and abilities you should have for this job:
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of FTA Title VI requirements.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, reconciling of accounts and internal controls.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles.
- Skills in Microsoft Office software products and PC proficiency.
- Project management and/or process improvement skills.
- Ability to plan and lead projects to successful completion; including developing effective teams, delegating tasks, facilitate problem solving, establish project schedules, and manage budgets.
- Ability to lead staff, work groups, facilitate/negotiate with others.
What additional skills and experience would be helpful in this job (desired qualifications):
- Experience as a manager/supervisor for a similar size organization ideally serving a diverse unionized employee population.
- Manager/supervisor experience in operating a department responsible for operating and maintaining electronic equipment or automated information systems.
- Advanced project management experience, certification, or training program.
- Ability to work and collaborate in diverse, multicultural and inclusive environments.
- Experience developing, monitoring and managing capital and operating budgets.

Work is performed in a standard office setting. Some positions may require travel between primary work site and other sites.
