Provides management support and coordinates department operations with 24 hour accountability, ensuring quality and cost-effective service. Conducts all levels of EMS education programs in accordance with the EMS System plan. Is responsible for curriculum development of all courses. Performs a variety of record keeping, information dissemination, quality assessment and improvement, curriculum development, field supervision and evaluation, planning and other related activities to maintain the EMS System. Oversees the CoAEMSP accreditation by working with the program coordinator to review work plans, course evals and identify areas for improvement. Oversees American Heart classes, the Safe Kid coalition and emergency preparedness for the health system.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Graduate of DOT approved Paramedic course or Registered Nurse. At least three years experience in Emergency Services. Must be Bachelor's prepared or higher.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Current Illinois Paramedic licensure within the State of Illinois. If a Registered Nurse, must hold current licensure from the State of Illinois. Within the first year of employment, must attain the following certifications; IDPH Lead Instructor, ACLS, PALS and PHTLS Instructor status.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels within the organization and community under varied conditions. Strong analytical, verbal and written communication, organizational and critical decision-making skills required.
