Position Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
- Supervises, coordinates, and directs all duties performed by Harris County personnel and contractors which are required to operate, repair, and maintain Harris County facilities within City, County, State, and National guidelines.
JOBE DUTIES:
- Collects and prepares data to prepare annual budgets.
- Approves and develops reports, expenditures, scopes of work, contracts, and project schedules.
- Manages the execution of and assigns the preventative, corrective and emergency work orders.
- Evaluates employee performance and approves or prepares reviews; coaching/counseling reports.
- Assists and trains less experienced co-workers and performs other duties as assigned.
- Will be required to be on-call after hours.

Requirements
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Ten (10) years, hands-on in various aspects of building engineering operations, repairs, and maintenance of commercial and/or industrial facilities.
- Six (6) years supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
- Must be competent in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Must have a thorough, working knowledge of all aspects of building trades relating to area of supervision.
- Must have working knowledge of budgeting, scheduling and cost estimating.
- Must be a self-starter possessing the interpersonal skills required to be a productive team player and leader.
- Must maintain a courteous, helpful behavior at all times.
- Must be able to pass security check and drug test, as required.
- This position is Safety Sensitive and subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
- Valid driver's license (Texas upon hire) and a good driving record.

Preferences
EDUCATION:
- College degree or some relevant college courses.
- Masters or State A license in HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical preferred.

- Fifteen (15) years, hands-on in various aspects of building engineering operations, repairs, and maintenance of commercial and/or industrial facilities.
General Information
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The primary work area is a typical office environment with reasonable climate control. This position does not require lifting or physical exertion beyond very modest levels. However, duties may require work outside in all kinds of weather.
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
