POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for building, developing, and executing a Loss Prevention strategy in support of the company’s overall business plan and core values in the areas of Safety, Security, and Profit Protection. The Director of Loss Prevention provides leadership and risk mitigation strategies to the Company’s leadership team. The individual in this position works closely with the Vice President of Operations to integrate activities of the Operations Team to achieve the Company’s objectives. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of Loss Prevention programs pertaining to shrink awareness, operational controls, physical security, external theft, internal theft, emergency preparedness and safety across all locations.
- Drive Safety and Security awareness among field management and store teams through
- Training and Education to improve prevention and control measures designed to enhance Guest and Team Member experiences.
- Drive shrink/loss awareness among field management and store teams through shrink mitigation coaching and training to improve profits, data integrity, operational controls, shrink awareness and physical security protocols. Instructs team members on proper cash, check, and credit handling process; conducts audits as needed.
- Work closely with Field and Store Management, Human Resources, Legal and Operations on all relevant Loss Prevention and Shrink Control matters.
- Monitor and maintain physical security controls and systems for all assigned locations including CCTV, burglar and fire alarms, and emergency systems, etc.
- Provide oversight, support, and guidance to Loss Prevention functions. Ensure that his/her actions enforce the organization policies and state, federal and local laws.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices, training technology, company goals, and operational objectives.
- Conduct and manage internal and external investigations, internal investigation interviewing, audits, shortage reduction programs and system controls.
- Establish and maintain contact with law enforcement, fraud, and ORC agencies within the region by attending meetings and calls to benchmark latest trends.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a people first mentality; “Fast Friendly Service with a Smile”.
- Excellent communication, verbal and written, skills are required.
- Proficient knowledge of exception-based reporting programs; case management systems; Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage workloads with competing priorities and complete objectives with little or no supervision.
- Demonstrated comfort working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Possess excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- 10 years of multi-store retail Loss Prevention management experience is required.
- College degree or commensurate experience required.
- Wicklander/Zulawski certification is recommended.
- Ability to perform weekly travel (4 days per week) in an assigned area.
