Infection Prevention Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the IP office.
- Review daily positive microbiology lab cultures.
- Discuss patients with MDRO placements with NM's, nursing staff and Admitting Office as necessary.
- Interact with the local health departments and communicate reportable diseases internally and externally.
- Enter reportable disease cases into the CDRSS for the NJDHSS.
- Submit mandatory data to NHSN as required.
- Serve as a consultant on Infection Prevention to staff, patients/families.
- Serve as the Co-Chair of the infection Prevention Council.
- Serve as the Program Leader for the Infection Prevention NPSG under the Quality Pillar for Operation Excellence.
- Serves as a member of the Nurse Practice, Patient Safety, P&T, Emergency Management, EOC, Skin Care, Pt/Family Education, Operative & Invasive, Patient Outcome, Medical Outcome and Critical Care committees.
- Maintain the IP budget.
- Supervise all part time and per diem IP staff as applicable.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, 2-5 years of direct experience in the field, and advanced certification required. BA/BS/BSN degree preferred.
- Completion of Clinical experience in NLN accredited school or Epidemiology preferred.
- Current NJ RN Licensure required as applicable.
- National certification - Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required or achievable within 2 years of hire.
- Knowledge of Regulatory Standards (NJDHSS, CMS, Joint Commission, Patient Safety Act and Sentinel Event, CDC, NDSN Reporting) required.
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite and IC database required.
