The Manager I Pharmacy Tech is responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians. Responds to calls from provider/physician offices, pharmacies and members. Oversees the entering and processing of pharmacy overrides into the system based on approved guidelines and approvals from Clinical Pharmacists and/or Medical Directors.
How you will make an impact:
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Responds to calls from physicians, pharmacies and members on a timely basis.
• Enters overrides into the system.
• Follows guidelines to make decisions on approvals and/or denials on drug products that are not in formulary plans.
• Performs special projects.
• Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates the performance of direct reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmacy operations, managed care, hospitals and/or retail environments and lead or management experience within a Pharmacy Services call center and experience processing prior authorizations and coverage determinations and experience in appeals/grievances; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
• Current State Pharmacy Tech required.
• Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) required.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

• Specialty Pharmacy Experience Highly Preferred.
• BA/BS in a related field preferred.
• For URAC accredited areas, the following professional competencies apply: Associates in this role are expected to have strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills.
