The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing support to the HR Director and working with the HR team to provide strategy and program development for Compensation & Benefits, Labor Relations, HRIS and workforce development plans for Island Health Hospital. Working with and assisting in developing and executing the organization’s human resource strategy in partnership with the HR Director and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT); in alignment with the vision, mission, and values of Island Health.
The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic partner in providing strategic support and planning to the HR Director and helps manage Human Resources functions, including:
- Talent management & Organizational development
- Employee and labor relations & Performance Management
- Total rewards (compensation and benefits) program management
- Training and development planning and delivery projects
- And employee and team member engagement
The Human Resources Manager also partners with the HR Director to ensure employment practices comply with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related healthcare field required. Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of HR experience required, with expertise in recruitment, employee relations, talent acquisition and management, and compensation & benefits experience minimally. 3+ years’ experience as an HR manager or supervisor OR as a Strategic HR Business Partner in healthcare is required.
- PHR / SPHR designation or other certification credential associated with healthcare Human Resources preferred.
