POSITION SUMMARY

The Commodity Specialist will research market costs of assigned commodities, help identify the best suppliers for Milo's needs, and administer/analyze quoting activities for potential contract awards based on future forecasts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, communicate, and execute all RFP/RFQs to supply base.

  • Evaluate all RFP responses, put data into Excel, and make recommendation to Commodity Manager.

  • Track cost savings/avoidances on all commodities.

  • Assist Commodity Managers in any duties around Category Plans.

  • Develop forecast and send to suppliers quarterly.

  • Communicate with Buyer strategic PO execution based on agreed-upon contract.

  • Gather market data on monthly basis and update category plans/supplier summary document.

  • Assist in the development of category plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations through the supply base.

  • Communicate category market data.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Occasional travel to accommodate quarterly Business Reviews, Supplier Visits, Industry Events, Management Meetings & Offsites

  • Uphold and participate in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities.

  • Invest in and is an example of Milo's Responsibility commitment which includes environmental, social, and corporate governance components.

  • Other Commodity Management related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in sourcing/supply chain or related field of study or equivalent

  • Minimum of two years of sourcing experience

  • Excellent organizational skills and computer proficiency in MS Office required

  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment

  • ERP experience or understanding of ERP Systems

  • Relationship building & management

  • Analytical skills

  • Strategic thinking

  • Attention to detail

  • Proactive work attitude

Responsibilities

Utilizes industry knowledge and supports partnerships with key suppliers to deliver sustainable supply of critical raw materials
