Overview
The Manager - Human Resources Business Partner's primary role is to support business leaders in the Rug Dr. division, overseeing both salaried and hourly Associates in the US and Canada. This role will additionally provide connection to the UK HR function. As a trusted ally to leaders and all Associates, you will help to execute, implement, and support Associate Experience initiatives and strategies. These projects will focus on providing a more simple and impactful experience in engaging with the HR Team. This role will consistently be looking toward continuous improvement in the spaces of performance management, leadership and professional development, engagement, and associate relations.
This role will establish an essential working relationship with senior leadership at Rug Dr. This position will facilitate talent and succession planning, aid with workforce planning, performance management and engagement to support business outcomes. The role will provide end-to-end support from administrative to Business Partnering to trusted ally, building a highly engaged relationship and valuable set of services.
Responsibilities
  • An enthusiastic team player with an innate ability to work cross functionally at all levels and possess a strong drive to create a positive team environment.
  • Act as first point of contact in HR for assigned Associate groups based in the US and Canada, proactively offering support and guidance on policies, processes, and procedures.
    • Provide support and guidance to hourly leadership for approximately 350+ field service technicians across the US & Canada.
    • Support and coach leaders on performance management, conflict resolution, progressive discipline, policy guidelines, and other Associate relations matters.
    • Guide and support assigned leaders through Rug Drs. performance management process, including guidance on performance improvement plans, individual development plans, and terminations.
    • Own the termination process for salaried and hourly associates in the US & Canada, including exit interviews, collection of equipment, system requirements, and termination metrics.
    • Be a key member of the job description review process for assigned client groups, partnering with business leaders and the compensation team to ensure adherence to the policy and process.
    • Be a driver to support people leaders on completing compliance-based activities such as 90 day reviews, quarterly and year end performance evaluations.
    • Stay current on HR compliance and local, state and federal laws, as well as trends with organizational policy and Associate Experience.
    • Support yearly handbook and policy updates, ensuring reconciliation to any relevant changes in state or federal law throughout the year.
  • Support the other HRBP's and act as a backup in supporting other business units.
  • Partner with Rug Dr. senior leadership on building effective and creative strategies to reduce turnover and provide coverage for field-based Associates.
  • Lead additional Associate Experience projects as assigned, including analysis of Engagement trends, turnover analytics, and other annual HR-compliance related initiatives.

Qualifications
Required Experience / Education
  • Degree minimum: Bachelor's Degree
  • Specific concentration: Business Administration, Management, or Human Resources preferred.
  • Experience level: 7+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of skills and knowledge as presented above.
  • Ideally has worked for an organization with a field service model spanning across multiple states.
  • Proven experience working effectively in a hybrid environment. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective and impactful Business Partnerships with those who may not be sitting in the same location.

Preferred Experience:
  • Exposure to employment law and Business Partnership across US states, specifically California.
  • Experience working with Canadian employment law and compliance, across provinces.

Skills Required:
  • Strong ability to create relationships with senior-level executives and influence appropriately and effectively.
  • Experience partnering with legal teams on challenging Associate Relations situations.
  • Has had exposure to leave policy and administration, including federal and state-specific law.
  • Strong organization, planning, and time management
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to manage and maintain work independently, with an understanding of when to inform up.
  • Past facilitation of performance management, talent and succession planning and Associate Relations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to execute within a matrixed organization effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Must be open to travel in the US and Canada as needed, travel expectations will be once per quarter (may increase or decrease as needed).
