Annually, the Funded Programs team facilitates approximately 410 international scholarships, including approximately 260 U.S. Department of State-funded scholarships for international high school students through the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX), Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange (YES), and Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) and 150 scholarships for participants of Exchange Foundations clients the Albanian-American Development Fund (AADF), the Baltic-American Freedom Foundation (BAFF), and the Romanian-American Foundation (RAF). In addition, the Funded Programs team administers a range of leadership development and enrichment short programs, including the CIEE-funded Young Civic Leadership Summit.
CIEE leads an annual summit for international changemakers named the Ambassador Johnny and Mrs. Angie Young Civic Leadership Summit (Y-CLS). Each year, about 50 Young Fellows are selected to travel to Washington, D.C. to learn, among other things, methods for working across national and intercultural barriers to overcome challenges to peace in our world.
The Manager, of Funded Programs, working with the Coordinator, of Funded Programs, is responsible for supporting all aspects of these programs, including but not limited to participant selection, coordination of logistics, staffing, and training, program finance, and day-to-day operations. The position requires extensive coordination with multiple external and internal stakeholders including the U.S. Department of State, program participants, and other CIEE teams.
CIEE also administers several grant programs through the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and with various U.S. Embassies throughout the world. The Manager of funded Programs may also assist with this programming as needed
What you’ll do:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Ambassador Johnny and Mrs. Angie Young Civic Leadership Summit
- Manage and coordinate participant selection, staffing, training, guest speakers, and all logistics for seminars, including on-site programming Communicate effectively across teams and with different stakeholders as a representative of CIEE
- Bachelor's degree
- Excellent Organizational and time management skills with an ability and willingness to remain flexible, shifting between projects based on the seasonality of the program, as directed by supervisor
- Strong experience with coordinating seminar logistics, including but not limited to travel, lodging, and guest speakers
- Meticulous attention to detail in a very fast-paced environment
- Strong, professional, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically
- Intercultural communication experience is a plus Computer skills including MS Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential
