Position Summary:
Nammo is seeking a EHS Manager who will develop, implement, and administer health, environmental, safety and security programs, provides training and determines competency of trainees in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements all while fostering a culture of improvement, awareness, and safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and manage Nammo’s EHS program to support the organization
• Lead the EHS management council and administers the internal EHS audit program.
• Possess a thorough understanding of EHS local/regional regulations and company policy.
• Primary subject matter expert of Process Safety Management applying strong problem solving and critical thinking, bringing a new perspective to existing problems and solutions.
• Ability to impact a range of stakeholders, including customers, executives, peers, visitors, and site personnel.
• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable EHS policies to provide for a hazard-free workplace for Nammo’s employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Measure the site performance against company requirements in environmental, health, safety, and security areas.
• Analyze EHS metrics leading to the discovery of trends, and drive improvement plans to closure to minimize risk and improve performance.
• Ensure environmental programs and systems are maintained and improved, including the management of environmental and hazardous material permits and plans.
• Create and maintain practices, procedures, training, and management controls to ensure work is planned and conducted in a safe manner in accordance with federal and local regulatory requirements.
• Support Nammo’s emergency response control plans and team to provide emergency response plans.
• Implement and contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the site’s EHS training program.
• Implement a health, environmental, safety and security management system.
• Provide subject matter support to the line organization for workplace health and safety issues/concerns.
• Proactive in advising management on EHS matters.
• Sustain the explosive safety management program.
• Ability to respond to emergencies during off hours as needed.
• Sustain the process hazard assessment and job hazard assessment programs.

Required Experience & Skills:
• BS/MS in Health & Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related degree.
• 8+ years in Health, Environmental & Safety manufacturing and/or equipment design environment.
• Familiar with ISO14001 and ISO45001, local environmental and safety regulations or standards for a manufacturing and research & development environment.
• Knowledge in the explosive industry and DoD4145.26M.
• Experience in environmental remediation programs and regulatory agency communications
• Strong ability to build culture and implement programs while fostering teamwork and cross-functional collaboration
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with customers and associates.
• Experience with Industrial Hygiene methods and standards.
• Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization.
• Strong ability to influence without authority.
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
• Strong ability to critically think, self-guide, and educate others.
• Adapts well to fast paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
• Professional Certification preferred, Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist.
• Ability to obtain BATF approval to engage in certain explosive operations
