Job Summary
Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Manager, Engineering Operations that is responsible for managing and leading an 24/7 operations and testing team in Albuquerque, NM. In this role, you will lead a team of operators to ensure safe, continuous testing operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 24/7 operators including shift management and shift logs
- Review and Implement Experimental Test Campaigns
- Mitigate conflicts that may impact final execution
- Manage an entrant team including coordination of entries into lab testing areas
- Coordinate with EHS (Env, Health, Safety) team to write Job Hazard Analyses for all complex hazardous work
- Lead and conducting Pre-Job briefs to various stakeholders within the organization
- Develop testing procedures
- Collaborate with Engineering Teams to understand the scope of test and hazards associated with the test
- Develop Operator Training Materials and coordinate with Learning & Development team for deployment of training
- Operate SCADA/HMI/Control Boards, high temperature pilot systems, pumps, valves, heaters blowers, compressors
- Troubleshoot equipment, electrical and instrumentation issues
- Periodically makes rounds of the plant to visually check equipment to validate proper operation
- Follow standard operating and emergency procedures until issues are resolved
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Experience with reading and understanding P&IDs
- 5-10 years of experience working at industrial plants that require 24/7 operations (e.g. Chemical, Nuclear, etc)
- Preferred experience with high temperature test systems, including molten salt applications
- Broad experience across power plant engineering topics
- Ability to foster an environment that creates new and better ways to be successful

Physical Conditions
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, scissor lifts, articulated boom lifts and the like

- Color identification: detecting, distinguishing, recognizing and identifying colors
- Wearing proper PPE, to include face mask, face shields, gloves, safety shoes
Travel
