Job description

The Sr. Manager, eCommerce Operations is a strategic and operational role who is a critical leader in enhancing our site's performance and driving a frictionless customer site experience. This person will set the bar for operational excellence, helping to grow our eCommerce business, by managing and implementing content, execution of promotional initiatives for online and in-store as well as partnering with Site Merchandising to execute merchandising initiatives across key landing pages. They will drive impact, improvement, and innovation to create a truly frictionless online shopping experience and help our eCommerce business. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:   

  • Manage day-to-day and long-term maintenance of the website including product launches, promotions and content management 
  • Proactively review the site with a customer-first mindset, identifying operational and customer experience problems, while suggesting and delivering solutions 
  • Troubleshoot website errors and take the lead on quality assurance projects 
  • Collaborate cross functionally to develop documentation for digital experience SOPs and best practices cross-functionally 
  • Work closely with Marketing and Site Merchandising to help build and execute promotional offers for both enterprise and online-only initiatives 
  • Maintain technical proficiency in content management tools, policies, and procedures 
  • Manage daily and long-term non-product content to enhance SEO efforts for both product, non-product and finance content pages 
  • Partner with Tech and IT to manage DAM (Digital Asset Management) and continually optimize site images and other retail partners such as Belk.com 
  • Work closely with Marketing, Creative and UX teams to execute projects and keep the operations of the site running smoothly 
  • Hold stakeholders accountable to deadlines and provide feedback, ensuring deliverables align with project goals 
  • Develop and oversee operational business processes required to run a digital commerce business with an emphasis on responsiveness, quality, and a superlative customer experience. 
  • Identify key issues, guide and execute analysis, develop conclusions, and present findings to cross-functional partners. Proactively address issues before they impact business results. 
  • Promote continuous improvements and standardizations across the ecom fulfillment process 
  • Builds and activates proper governance models within digital teams to increase awareness, roadblocks, priorities, and processes. 
  • Strong relationship-building skills. Experience working closely with multiple business functions to influence strategic agendas and operationalize initiatives. 
  • Partner with internal and external resources to manage the website & operation functioning. 
  • Lead a team and provide oversite and mentorship 
  • Create an exemplary site experience.  You'll help drive the holistic site strategy and operational performance for your division and play a key role in enhancing the customer journey on our site to win customers' hearts and minds. Using market and customer data, you'll enable a seamless and optimized experience, helping to manage the product roadmap and tooling needs, reporting and KPIs, A/B testing, taxonomy, search, SEO, and more. 
  • Structure complex and ambiguous strategic problems - You'll continuously analyze our eCommerce business and develop and implement site strategies to improve the end-to-end customer journey, driving innovation and growth for your Division. You'll develop hypotheses and execute in-depth analyses, translating data into actionable insights and recommendations. 
  • Becoming an invaluable strategic partner to internal stakeholders - You'll advise on and partner with various internal teams to improve processes, identify opportunities, and scale best practice and governance, driving continual assessment and improvement of the site's strategic direction and execution. 

Required Experience 

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technology or related discipline; or equivalent experience. 
  • 7+ years of eCommerce experience. Should have at least three (3) years managing a team of direct reports and working closely with digital leadership team. 
  • Should have at least three (3) years managing site promotions 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to present in both technical and non-technical terms. 
  • A strong understanding of all aspects of a large online retailer, including links to store operations, infrastructure, client relations, marketing, promotion, fulfillment, and customer service. 
  • Strong managerial, planning, analytical, communications, decision-making, lateral thinking, project management and leadership skills. 
  • Growth-oriented leader with exceptional execution skills. 
  • Willingness to go the extra mile to ensure that we provide the best consumer experience 

Preferred Experience 

  • Experience with site personalization and geo targeting content 
  • Experience with BigCommerce 

Skills & Abilities: 

  • Strong managerial, planning, analytical, communications, decision-making, lateral thinking, project management and leadership skills. 
  • Growth-oriented leader with exceptional execution skills. 
  • Willingness to go the extra mile to ensure that we provide the best consumer experience 
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS is required 
  • Understanding of JSON preferred 
  • Advanced user of Adobe Photoshop 
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel 

Working Conditions:   

  • Work is performed in an office environment  
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting/standing
