Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, implement, and monitor multiple Defined Contribution retirement benefit programs

  • Provide oversight over multiple administrators involved in the administration of retirement plans

  • Identify opportunities and recommend strategies that will increase retirement readiness and manage the risks of the retirement plans

  • To work with peers and external partners to create a communication plan and materials that engage our employees, meeting them where they are so that they can retire at a time of the choosing

  • Lead a team of benefit professionals in all aspects of Defined Contribution benefits administration and communications. With deep expertise in the plans, oversee performance of various third-party administrators to ensure compliance with all plans, service level agreements, laws, and regulations and to ensure excellent customer service for all United employees

  • Manage large scale (enterprise-wide) projects, including implementations, RFP’s, and enhancements. Act as a liaison to the various union workgroup contracts and provide timely and accurate responses to their inquiries and concerns

  • Prepare and present recommendations to Human Resources and other leaders related to new offerings and changes to existing programs. Must articulate how new offerings and changes impact the business

  • Continuously measure and improve processes as well as employees’ interactions with internal and external resources. Establish priorities and oversee workflow of the team. Coach and develop individual team members to foster growth and learning

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 4-8 years of benefits experience with 401(k) plans

  • Comprehensive understanding of benefit practices, programs, plans and regulations

  • Overall knowledge of benefit plan design and administration with a solid background in Defined Contribution Plans

  • Thorough understanding of organization and interdependencies, interfaces, and processes

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience

  • RPA- CEBS preferred
