Your Opportunity
This position is responsible for helping ensure Pet Plants products, personnel and QA/Operational programs meet JMS, FDA, and our customers food safety and quality requirements. The scope of the position includes production/quality activities in the 3 Pet manufacturing plants.

• Liaison to Pet Plant Quality Assurance and Operations leaders.
• Responsible for the development mentorship of the plant JMS QA managers and their teams.
• Conduct/Lead 19 Key Element operational QA audits with JMS CQA team and follow up with plant teams on identified gaps and corrective/preventative actions (CAPA).
• Lead/participate as CQA representative in improvement projects with pet plant teams and our cross functional partners (R&D, TSO, Engineering, etc)
• Drive continual quality improvement as measured by Quality key performance indicators including internal and external audits, and company quality metrics
• Provide technical support to the manufacturing plants as it relates to, but not limited to, quality and food safety requirements.
• Assist in the management plant Quality Incidents and escalations with the goal of investigating root cause and implementing corrective/preventative actions to prevent incident reoccurrence.

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science or related scientific degree
• Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (human or animal food) or HACCP experience
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment
• 5+ years of progressive experience QA/Food Safety
• Previous people management experience.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing (required) or pet food experience (preferred).
• Working knowledge of Quality Assurance, food manufacturing, packaging, processing, and distribution.
• Ability to work in cross-functional & team-oriented environment with multiple disciplines.
• Proven capabilities in project management with ability to lead multiple and concurrent projects.
• Detail & process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Visual Analytics skills.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or 6-Sigma skills (preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Position may require up to 40% travel annually.
