Summary:

The Hershey Company is looking for a new member to join their best-in-class communications team. This new energetic team member will be responsible for creating and delivering Public Relations strategy for our portfolio of brands while also ensuring enterprise connectivity. From Hershey’s, and Reese’s to Jolly Rancher, Skinny Pop, Dot’s and more, this role delivers unique and powerful public relations programs for marketing initiatives, including product launches, campaigns, promotions, seasons and agile opportunities, while also keeping a keen eye of reputation of our brands and business.

This role will be highly collaborative and a partner across the enterprise, ensuring a close working relationship with our US business, C-Sweet (in-house agency & content team) to create seamless campaigns and working environment.

As part of a multi-faceted team, this new member will have the opportunity to wear many hats and act as a publicist, writer, producer, project manager, strategist and more.


Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the creation and/or execution of editorial, language, engagement, internal, external, and change communications strategies.
    • Ability to develop strong media strategies and creative opportunities to cultivate stories, messages and campaigns.
  • Content Development:Lead the creation of written, verbal, and/or visual communications.
    • Proven ability to plan/write/edit/proofread content that is strategically crafted to convey key messages and drive positive editorial coverage that align with business/brand/enterprise goals.
    • Leverages creative assets to tell compelling visual stories and ensure all content are thoughtfully designed to drive media and consumer excitement.
    • Comprehends enterprise story connectivity and draw connective between company and brand initiatives.
  • Content Management:Lead the management of content for social media accounts, internal and external-facing websites, branding, agency projects, media projects, and consumer projects.
    • Proven experience with leveraging integrated campaigns, social channels, influencers to drive “new news” beyond traditional outlets.
    • Strong ability to lead programs from start to finish (briefing, planning, execution and measurement), and manage comprehensive and program budget.
  • Stakeholder Management:Lead the alignment of stakeholders around communications initiatives, content approvals, and consult on communications best practices and tools.
    • Forge positive relationships with journalists, producers and influencers to manage inquiries, develop lists and serve as a passionate spokesperson for our brands.
  • Training:Lead the training of stakeholders around communications practices and tools, brand guidelines, media outreach, and crisis/responsive communications.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager preferred

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, public policy, social sciences or other associated major.

Experience: 5-7 years of relevant work experience in earned media, public relations, communications, marketing. In-house/client-side experience is a plus.
