NATURE AND SCOPE
Reporting to the Vice President of Consumer Credit Operations, the Consumer Loan Processing Manager functions as a resource, trainer, and mentor for the Consumer Loan Processing team. This position will serve as an escalation resource and subject matter expert for associate and member questions while also serving as a liaison between team leads, processors and management. In this role you will also assist the VP of Consumer Lending with projects, production, quality review, scheduling and other various Consumer Loan Processing functions.
REQUIREMENTS
1. High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of progressive Consumer Loan Processing experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
2. Proven ability to consistently complete duties within established time frames in a high volume environment.
3. Ability to review and process all vendor related home equity documentation.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
5. Must have experience or be able to gain proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job.
6. Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
7. Must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work some evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
8. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must comply with all job-related policies and procedures, and state and federal laws and regulations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Manages Consumer Loan Processing, builds out efficient workflows, answers associate questions and maintaining a positive image of the department throughout the credit union. Serves as a reference and information source, keeping the department managers informed about possible problems or needs of the department.
2. Coordinates training and mentoring of less experienced Consumer Loan Processors.
3. Reviews and processes all vendor related home equity documentation (flood determinations, automated home valuations, appraisal, title reports, and property condition reports) to ensure we are secured and in the appropriate lien position.
4. Processes application for other secured loans such as private party vehicle purchases and purchases through dealerships to ensure liens with DMV, DNR, UCC or other similar agencies are secured.
5. Completes timecard approvals, schedules and PTO requests.
6. Assists with weekly task assignments for processors.
7. Assigns and tracks daily processing loan audits.
8. Handles escalated issues and acts as a liaison between team leads, processors and Consumer Lending leadership team.
9. Partners and communicates with Consumer Lending and branch management, as needed.
10. Assists with consistent production and quality review of processors, including annual reviews.
11. Processes and audits associate loans with confidentiality, when needed.
12. Assists the VP of Consumer Lending with various consumer lending reports.
13. Assists with reviewing and maintaining procedures.
14. Interviews and makes hiring decisions and onboards new associates.
15. Completes projects as assigned, including documentation and implementation.
16. Monitors and promptly delegates or replies to email and other communication delivered to the Central Loan Processing department.
17. Performs other duties as assigned.
