About Corporate Sustainability (CS) Team: The American Express Corporate Affairs & Communications (CA&C) team is a strategic function that works to enhance and protect the continued strength of the American Express brand through public relations, social media and content, colleague communications, Corporate Sustainability (CS), Community Impact and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives. How will you make an impact in this role? The Community Impact Manager will report to the Vice President of Global Philanthropy to execute the vision for the company's Community Impact program, with a specific focus on The American Express Leadership Academy, a signature initiative of the Foundation, and grants related to workforce development and education.

American Express Leadership Academy Day to day liaison and management of the Leadership Academy, a 6-month hybrid nonprofit leadership development program for senior and mid-level nonprofit executives. Work closely with VP Philanthropy to manage global nonprofit partner and internal stakeholders. Oversees end-to-end project management and delivery of the American Express Leadership Academy for week-long in-person component in APAC, UK/EMEA, and US/Americas.

Work closely with Communications team to bring engaging speakers, content, and peer-to-peer network to build awareness and ecosystem of nonprofit leaders. Build and manage alumni community for Leadership Academy, with continued touch points and networking both virtually and in person, to strengthen ecosystem. Support VP Philanthropy, Head of Corporate Sustainability to engage senior leaders and build a strategy to grow the Leadership Academy's impact beyond core 3 programs (e.g.

salons, side events, and virtual offerings.) Grants Management Manages global partners for grants in Backing Equal Futures portfolio focused on workforce development, education, and humanitarian support. Work closely with CA&C and U.S. Community Impact market leads and international counterparts to provide a framework and ensure alignment and follow-through of Backing Equal Futures grants funded locally.

Implements program priorities in consultation with the Vice President and other senior business leaders and in line with community needs, business strategies and the company's overall community giving and ESG objectives Manage grant-making and grant processing in Smart Simple for partners, identify appropriate and relevant projects and opportunities, avoid unnecessarily controversial ones, track, maintain and report relevant funding and impact metrics to the ESG working group. Works with Director, Colleague Engagement to support Serve2Gether programs in thematic area. Communications & Executive Engagement Works closely with Communications team to help ensure full use of targeted programs to protect and enhance the reputation of American Express, nurture communication opportunities internally and externally.

Periodically handles and vets requests and inquiries from senior executives and Board members. Support Head of Corporate Sustainability on high-visibility partnerships Support development of presentations and memos to support Trustee and Executive meetings Minimum Qualifications Qualifications 7+ years of experience within a project management, communications, grantmaking or corporate social responsibility focused role. Bachelors' degree (required) in relevant field with a preference for education, workforce development, or communications/marketing, or relevant work experience.

An affinity and enthusiasm for using the power of convening, storytelling, and communications to increase impact. Strong project management and organizational skills to operate in a fast-paced, matrix organization and effectively set and meet deadlines Proven track record in event management and creating high quality social impact experiences in the intersection of brand, impact, and communications. Outstanding interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.

Strong partnership-building, stakeholder management and program execution skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proactive approach and ability to work autonomously and take initiative. Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Familiarity with grantmaking systems and corporate philanthropy regulations in the USA or globally.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
