Are you looking to make a meaningful impact?
USAA has a crucial goal - supporting the financial well-being of millions of U.S. military members and their families.

While not all our team members have a military background, we are united in our dedication to giving back to those who served.

Together, we are focused on creating excellent experiences and driving real change for our members.
At the core of our work are values such as honesty, integrity, loyalty, and service. These principles shape everything we do - from how we serve our members to how we collaborate internally. Join us and be part of something special.
The Manager, Claims Operations Role at USAA
We are on the lookout for a committed Manager to oversee a team of Auto Adjusters. This team specializes in managing non-injury auto claims and total loss cases.

In this position, you will lead a team responsible for assisting our members, finding suitable solutions as they investigate, evaluate, and negotiate claims.

Your role involves fostering employee engagement through regular coaching and feedback to drive business outcomes. You will also be tasked with implementing process enhancements, providing insights on process improvement, and leading organizational changes. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring operational risk management, regulatory compliance training, and adherence to policies and procedures.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in line with risk and compliance policies.

  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, member experiences, and processes.
  • Create a conducive environment for success by overcoming obstacles, leading change, and championing improvement.
  • Ensure optimal productivity by managing workload volumes, staffing, training requirements, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Monitor work continuously to guarantee consistent process execution and compliance with guidelines.
  • Handle escalations and make decisions based on established policies.
  • Assist employees in skills identification and career development, serving as a subject matter expert for projects.
  • Recruit, train, and coach claims employees to achieve results.
  • Provide consistent coaching on claims handling and identify areas for process improvement and engagement enhancement.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience in addition to the required minimum years of experience.
  • 6 years of progressive experience in customer service, operations, military, or leadership, including a minimum of 2 years in claims handling with proven proficiency.
  • 2 years of direct team lead, supervisory, or management experience.
  • Proficiency in using and interpreting data for decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, customer service, and claims handling skills.
  • Acquisition and maintenance of a relevant insurance adjuster license within 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current experience as a Claims Manager/Supervisor.
  • 2+ years of experience in handling Auto total loss claims.
  • 2+ years dealing with complex non-injury auto coverage and liability matters.
  • 2+ years of physical damage claims experience.
  • Strong background in coaching and developing claims adjusters to achieve organizational goals.
  • Military experience through service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
