GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Business Analytics Manager leads a group of Analytics analysts and is responsible for the oversight and delivery of comprehensive and insightful Business Analytics to support achievement of the Credit Union's strategic and financial goals.

Primary duties of this role include oversight of the Business Intelligence & Analytics team and responsibility for the ongoing delivery of data-driven insights to support strategic priorities of the Credit Union, including growth and efficiency. This will consist of intake and scoping of analytics requests along with the timely creation of quality deliverables that articulate insights and support strategic decision making. Strong collaboration with business unit leaders is required to ensure that the Business Intelligence and Analytics team is meeting the needs of the business unit and the Credit Union.  Additionally, the manager will support data governance and data platform enhancement prioritization to support the evolving analytics needs of the Credit Union and its various business units.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

1. Oversee the Business Analytics function and enable data-driven decision making through the delivery of insightful Business Analytics.
2. Ensure the analytics are completed quickly and to expectation to support decision making at the speed of business.
3. Catalog and maintain an inventory of completed analytics deliverables with the ability to transition ad hoc deliverables to the reporting team to be refined and operationalized for ongoing reporting.
4. Regularly partner with IT and Senior Leaders to establish and continually reinforce data governance practices that protect and optimize value creation from the Credit Union's data.
5. Maintain an expert level competency with regard to data tools, including the following: PowerBI, SQL, Excel with competency in either SAS Enterprise Guide or R.
6. Effectively leverage data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Excel, etc.) to create impactful and insightful visuals that assist business leaders with decision making. 
7. Support the development and deployment of data solutions that leverage technology to improve and simplify daily activities.
8. Effectively manage team resources to consistently deliver a timely and high-quality work product that supports both operational and strategic decision-making.
9. Assist with requirement gathering using interviews, document analysis, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.
10. Develop strong working relationships with leaders and peers across the Credit Union in addition to driving high levels of employee engagement.
11. Develop and maintain an understanding of the pertinent regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, establish, and maintain control activities that mitigate those risks consistent with the Credit Union's risk appetite, and ensure operational integrity and compliance with applicable regulations.
12. This position may be required to be accessible for urgent requests that fall outside of normal working hours. This type of coverage will generally be coordinated in advance.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:

1. Effective oral and written communication skills required to assist other staff, share reports, coach staff, communicate clearly with management, and perform other related tasks.
2. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, and telephone.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:

1. INTERNAL: All levels of staff and management.
2. EXTERNAL: Vendors, other financial institutions, business partners and industry peers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. EDUCATION:
   1. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty (Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Science, or similarly quantitative/analytical degrees).    Equivalent work experience with required knowledge/skills may be substituted for degree.

1. EXPERIENCE:
   1. 5+ years of experience in Leadership, supervising analyst in a reporting or analytical role
   2. 10+ Years of technical experience using data tools for the creation of reporting.

   2. Technical Ability
      1. Advanced data manipulation skills with SQL and Excel
      2. Proficiency in PowerBI
      3. Proficiency in Power Automate
      4. Experience with data tools such as R, SAS Enterprise Guide, Python or other visualization, mining, or programming tools.
   3. Data Fluency
      1. Ability to explore, interpret and understand data with minimal assistance.
      2. Expert ability to communicate what the data means using visualizations and aggregated tables.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
2. Corrected vision within the normal range.
3. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
4. Ability to lift 15 lbs. as may be required.
5. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Preferred: Data Analytics Certification like: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), IBM Data Science Professional Certificate, Datacamp Analyst Certification, Microsoft Data Analyst Associate Certification, SQL Certification, or other graduate work in the fields of finance, business intelligence or data analytics.
