Job Description Summary :

The Havas Edge Summer Internship Program is a paid internship ($20/hr) and an excellent way for students or recent graduates to dive in and experience what it’s like to work at a performance marketing agency. Our program is designed to give our interns the same hands-on training as our entry-level employees, so that you can apply these skills to “real” work. As a result, interns will have a stimulating, challenging, rewarding, and exciting experience!
This program will focus on Business Analytics, Strategy, and Digital Media. It is an excellent way for students to understand the role Business Analytics, strategic planning, and digital media play in helping Havas Edge evolve beyond relying on conceptual content to drive decisions and actions.
The Havas Edge Summer Internship Program will be 10 weeks long and run from June 10th to August 16th (2024). We are seeking interns that can work full-time (36 hours a week), in our Carlsbad, CA office.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES – BUSINESS ANALYTICS

Our Analytics team will be partaking in the program – a unique opportunity and chance to learn alongside the experts as a Business Analytics Intern!

What type of training and support can I expect?

The goal for our Business Analytics Intern is to learn to define objectives and variables explicitly and to specify the relationships among the variables via a response model to consider the effect of advertising on both response and sales and determine if increases (or decreases) in advertising are justified.

This goal is achieved via training sessions to help you become an astute user of well-established models and a knowledgeable consumer of the modeling results generated by others. You will have the support of the Director of Business Analytics who will help you focus your interpretation of results to facilitate the decision-making process, client’s objectives and goals. You will also have the support of the Chief Strategy Officer and SVP of Digital Marketing and Strategic Planning, along with other members of their departments.

What kind of work will I do?

You will explore decision options (even those considered outliers), assess the relative impact of different marketing decision variables, and select the optimal approach.

You will harness data and knowledge via research and information gathering. You will design and construct decision models and then implement those models as necessary to support the decision-making process of business strategy leads.

What is expected of me?

As a paid intern at Havas Edge, you are expected to learn lessons and develop insights that will help shape your future occupational choice. These lessons and insights are achieved by:

Working full-time (36 hours per week)
Additional Training with different departments to learn the agency operations as a whole
Training in all aspects of Business Analytics
Completing assigned projects within a reasonable scope
Communicating openly with your manager(s) about your level of understanding of topics
Taking the initiative to explore other roles within Havas Edge

TRAINING AND SUPPORT

As a Business Analytics Intern, you will participate in on-the-job training with members of the Analytics department, as well as receive exposure to other departments so that you may learn how your specific department functions within the agency & how it supports and interacts with the others. You will have access to technology and tools to support you throughout your internship, as well.

Additionally, you will be assigned a mentor, who will assist you with any questions you may have and may assign you work as needed. You will work in a dynamic, engaging environment alongside experienced team members - some of whom were interns at Havas Edge themselves.

We are looking for highly motivated, creative, and organized intern who is driven to see clients' businesses and brands thrive. You’re creative and analytical with a proven track record of facing problems with confidence, overcoming obstacles with limited time or resources, and maintaining composure under pressure. Ideal candidates will meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills/abilities:

Min 3.0 GPA
Preferred course of study in Marketing, Business, Analytics, Statistics or other related disciplines
Ability to execute tasks in a deadline-oriented environment, with the ability to work independently
Basic understanding of analytics, media, and strategy in any discipline
Experience using Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
