Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):
$52.340 - $67.536 - $82.731
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
Provide effective financial leadership of Sharp Community Medical Group including Metis Practice Solutions, SharpCare Medical Group, as well as Focus Health, including preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), consultation with Senior Management, financial control over assets and operations, and supervision of accounting personnel and functions.
Responsible for review of journal entries and account reconciliations for Sharp Community Medical Group entities as well as development and documentation of department policies and procedures. Responsible for assisting with year-end and interim audit and any other audits as needed.
Responsible for assisting with upgrades and testing of the Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains System among all financial areas of Sharp Community Medical Group. Responsible for review and filing of required tax forms and other specialized accounting projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration with major in accounting.
  • 5 years accounting experience.
  • 3 years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare experience and/or audit experience with large public accounting firm.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - CA Board of Accountancy.

Essential Functions
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to members of the accounting staff consistent with Sharp HealthCare standards and competencies, including the establishment of proper process, procedures and internal controls for all aspects of their jobs.
  • Responsible for the preparation, review, and approval of entity-specific monthly and quarterly financial statements and quantitative and qualitative analyses and notes thereto.
  • Assist in Year End and Interim audit, review and preparation of audit schedules, distribution of the client assistance package and follow-up procedures as necessary.
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, and timely filing of all required tax returns and forms.
  • Provide leadership on FASB/GAAP and other technical matters related to reporting standards; ensure compliance with all applicable laws and organizational requirements; recommend and implement policies/procedures based on new standards and best practices.
  • Evaluate existing policies and procedures and recommend enhancements where applicable.
  • Responsible for the Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains System on-going updates and related testing.
  • Responsible for the review and approval of entity-specific monthly journal entries in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the review and approval of entity-specific account reconciliations bi-monthly.
  • Provide effective financial consultation services to Senior Management, including budgeting assistance, variance analysis, and other financial consultation as requested.
  • Identify areas for process improvement to increase efficiencies, design and implement necessary improvements, and monitor processes to ensure desired efficiencies are sustained.

  • Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Familiarity with automated accounting systems.
