Salary: $27.5875.00 to $45.9789 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
Schedule: 30 hours per week between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday-Friday; evening and/or weekend work as well as being part of an on-call rotation for Hospital Accompaniment and After Hours may be required.
Location: Primary location is 12011 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA. However, the position will may need to work from other County locations as necessary.
Note: This is a non-merit E-status position. The selected applicant cannot exceed 1560 hours per calendar year.
The Division of Domestic and Sexual Violence Services (DSVS) of the Department of Family Services (DFS) is seeking a Children and Youth Grant Specialist to provide support in maintaining two grants related to children and youth who have experienced or are at risk for sexual or domestic violence, teen dating violence, or stalking. The Children and Youth Grant Specialist is a member of the Prevention, Education, and Coordination Team. This position specializes in providing programmatic and project support to two grants serving children and youth.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing strategies to collect and maintain data related to two grants: The Office on Violence Against Women Children and Youth Grant and the Virginia Department of Social Services Prevention Grant
- Liaises with grant partners to monitor grant goals, outputs, and outcomes
- Develops and implements tools to evaluate the effectiveness of programs, monitors goals, and makes recommendations for changes
- Maintains and tracks data for evaluation of grant services •Liaises with stakeholders to coordinate trainings and workshops
- Provides support for Teen Advocate and Healthy Youth Prevention and Education Program by collecting and maintaining data.
- Liaises with stakeholders to plan grant activities, schedule meetings, manage logistical needs, and ensure timely communication regarding events and project deadlines
- Works on new, creative ways to encourage engagement with the community and new stakeholders as well as plans, executes, and attends a variety of outreach events
- Contributes to division, unit, and program measures and completes grant reports, as well as preparation for site visits and audits
- Participates in the development and adherence of DSVS goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and mission of DFS

Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience working in project management or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience working within the human services field
- At least 2 years of experience in collaboration with and development of partnerships
- At least 1 year of experience working within the field/s of domestic or sexual violence, teen dating violence, stalking, or human trafficking.
Physical Requirements
- Work requires performing tasks with risks of secondary traumatic stress (STS).
- Ability to navigate through and make decisions in stressful and crisis situations.
- Mobility to attend meetings at various county locations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to use automated technology.
- Ability to use audiovisual equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
