POSITION TITLE: Major Projects TeamCore Specialist

PAY GRADE: 13

DEPARTMENT: MajorProjects Team

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

LOCATION: Hybrid

PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of this position is to fulfill our vision of inspiring financial wellness. The position must deliver high quality service to both internal and external members by supporting and promoting our values to Care, Listen, Learn, Solve, and Act.

The Major Projects TeamCore Specialist will execute company-wide credit union projects including system conversions and mergers. The Core Specialist will work closely with the other Major Project Team members and staff throughout the credit union.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Acts as the core, digital banking, and Alogent expert for the Major Projects Team.
  • Leads the Major Projects Team in merger of core member data, including coordination with vendors, scrubbing of data, testing, and merging of accounts. Also leads the digital banking conversion, including all digital banking ancillary systems.
  • Develop automated processes, reports and scripts as needed to support credit union projects and process improvements.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of Corelation Keystone. Work with Corelation and related vendors for the procurement of new system technologies, oversee installation, and resolve adaptation issues.
  • Using the change control process, execute, monitor, and test updates, changes, and implementations on the core and digital banking systems as related to Major Projects.
  • Place and monitor help desk tickets with Corelation/Alogent or other vendors as needed.
  • Coordinate with Core and Digital Banking teams to ensure Major Projects are implemented in sync with standard processes.
  • Leads any integrations needed for new software with the core system.
  • Assists with writing business and functional requirements for projects as related to core, digital banking, or Alogent or integrations with these systems.
  • Provide core system expertise to Major Projects Team to ensure that issues are identified, tracked and resolved before they become critical problems
  • Document solutions in service desk knowledgebase or other applicable environments
  • Develop automated processes, reports and scripts as needed to support Major Projects Team functions
  • Perform other duties commensurate to this position

REQUIRED BACKGROUND:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field is preferred
  • 3 years experience with Credit Unions, Financial Institutions or Financial Industry; able to incorporate consumer needs and objectives into business considerations.
  • 2-4 years of core data processing management or similar experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar certification is preferred and must be obtained within the first year.
  • Must be proficient in the use of basic Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Must become proficient in credit union systems (Corelation Keystone, digital banking, and Alogent) within 6 months.
  • Must be highly skilled at writing SQL queries
  • Must have expertise needed for UI Scripting or be able to develop expertise of UI scripting within 6 months in the position
  • Must be self-motivated with exceptional time management, organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have well developed analytical and problem-solving skills; to solve problems as they occur and escalate as needed.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal relationship skills, ability to motivate and direct work through the efforts of others, discuss problems and solutions with all levels of staff and management and be approachable to the team.
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication.

ADA REQUIREMENTS

Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
