POSITION TITLE: MajorProjects Team – Human Resources and Training Specialist

PAY GRADE: 13

DEPARTMENT: Major Projects Team

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

LOCATION: Hybrid

PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of this position is to fulfill our vision of inspiring financial wellness. The position must deliver high quality service to both internal and external members by supporting and promoting our values to Care, Listen, Learn, Solve, and Act.

The Project Team – HR/Training Specialist will execute company-wide credit union projects including system conversions and mergers. The HR/Training Specialist will work closely with the other Major Projects Team members and staff throughout the credit union.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and executes training for all project outcomes, including new product, software, and system implementations. Works with HR team to incorporate newly developed training into onboarding and ongoing training.
  • Responsible for the development of job descriptions and creation of new positions as needed to support Major Projects.
  • For all mergers, completes Human Resources due diligence, including workforce analysis, job offers, and terminations. Manages transition of benefits and paid time off. Serves as the cultural liaison to merge staff teams.
  • Responsible for the creation of the onboarding and training plan for all mergers and assists with execution of training.
  • Coordinate with HR and Training teams to ensure Major Projects are implemented in sync with standard processes.
  • Stays up to date with and maintains knowledge of changes and developments in federal, state, and local employment, payroll, wage, and hour laws and regulations. Recommends best practices to the Major Projects Team. Reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Perform other duties commensurate to this position

REQUIRED BACKGROUND:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, HR, or equivalent successful work experience in a retail banking environment
  • 3 years of experience with Credit Unions, Financial Institutions or Financial Industry; able to incorporate consumer needs and objectives into business considerations.
  • 2-3 years of experience in HR administration and/or developing/supporting training.
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar certification is preferred or must be obtained within the first year.
  • Must be proficient in the use of basic Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Must become proficient in credit union systems (Corelation Keystone, digital banking, Meridian Link, and Alogent) within 6 months.
  • Must be self-motivated with exceptional time management, organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have well developed analytical and problem-solving skills; to solve problems as they occur and escalate as needed.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal relationship skills, ability to motivate and direct work through the efforts of others, discuss problems and solutions with all levels of staff and management and be approachable to the team.
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication.

ADA REQUIREMENTS

Physical Requirements

Able to travel to all areas of responsibility, including out-of-town branches and departments within buildings to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
