Role Summary
Supports the plant by coordinating the maintenance and upkeep of the production equipment, plant facility and facility equipment, through contractors, vendors and the Magna maintenance team. Utilizing strong project management skills to ensure PM's, repairs and projects are executed in a timely manner, with high quality of work.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of building and property maintenance including, but not limited to, plant roofs, building interior/exteriors, grounds maintenance, offices, HVAC systems, air compressors, dock doors and locks, general repairs to walls and electrical components, and fire suppression systems
  • Responsible for effective planning and management of facility projects, upgrades and programs including HVAC, electrical systems, equipment installation and upgrade
  • Assisting the EHS team in ensuring compliance to all local, state and federal environmental regulations and managing waste streams
  • Coordinate with Health, Safety & Environmental to promote and maintain a safe work environment
  • Managing the open invoices of the services or vendors which responsible for, by documenting and tracking service calls and hours to be billed to a PO
  • Supervision of contract employees and facilitation of contractor problems when necessary
  • Drive cost reduction programs and projects, including reduction of energy consumption
  • Is the primary contact for property insurance and works closely with consultants to ensure hazards are evaluated and recommended improvements are implemented
  • Drive innovation by overseeing all aspects of renovation projects, refurbishments, etc. and ensuring the implementation of best practices
  • Develop and improve facility related PM's to reduce failure and cost risks

Responsibilities Cont.
  • Investigate damages to facilities, determine responsibility and coordinate repairs, implement prevention methods
  • Responsible for the development of long-term facilities management plans
  • Report all critical and non-critical problems to the Maintenance Manager
  • Keep accurate records and complete correspondence, documentation and reports as required
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example, including 5s activities defined by the Maintenance Manger
  • Work closely with the maintenance team and Supervisors to improve equipment uptime and MTBF
  • Review and close maintenance PM's on a daily/weekly basis, track open issues
  • Coordinate special projects between MPS, production or other departments and the maintenance team
  • Source parts, materials and submit purchase reqs as needed for special projects and repairs
  • Maintain key facility KPI's and measurables, such as contractor cost/month, energy consumption, facility equipment downtime, facility budget targets
  • Supports other teams and projects in areas like plant safety, quality, IATF compliance, MAFACT

Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or other related area of study preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a facilities coordinator or manager
  • Knowledge in industrial electrical codes, OSHA regulations, general building code and permitting
  • Prior experience working with CAD, inventory management systems and other computer databases
  • Leadership skills in order to coordinate the activities and communicate the requirements of the company to both internal support and external vendors
  • Good understanding of current market costs for repairs and materials
  • Ability to adapt and work well under a variable workload
  • Strong ability to analyze technical problems, and drive the solution process
