Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of equipment, machinery, and facilities within your organization. This role is essential for preventing downtime, reducing maintenance costs, and maintaining a safe working environment. You will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on a scheduled basis.
- Electrical and Mechanical Repairs:
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues in equipment.
- Replace or repair faulty components, such as motors, switches, and circuitry.
- Plumbing and HVAC:
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, and HVAC systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Address leaks, blockages, and temperature control issues.
- Building Maintenance:
- Conduct general building maintenance tasks, including painting, carpentry, and minor repairs.
- Ensure that facilities are in good condition, addressing issues such as lighting, doors, and windows.
- Safety Inspections:
- Perform safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards and compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain fire safety equipment and systems.
- Equipment Calibration:
- Calibrate and adjust machinery and equipment to maintain precision and accuracy in manufacturing processes.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and preventive measures.
- Document equipment manuals, spare parts inventory, and maintenance schedules.
- Emergency Response:
- Be on call for emergency maintenance issues and repairs outside of regular working hours.
- Supplier and Vendor Relations:
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors to order replacement parts and maintain relationships for efficient procurement.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in maintenance is a plus.
- Proven experience in maintenance, repair, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and follow maintenance schedules.
Working Conditions:
Maintenance Technicians work in various settings, including manufacturing facilities, commercial buildings, residential complexes, or industrial plants. Working conditions may involve exposure to various elements, including heat, cold, heights, and potentially hazardous materials. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required based on the specific maintenance tasks.
